Weekend Events in Lake Town: Music, Verdi, and Art Exhibitions
Intense weekend ahead filled with music, concerts, and exhibitions in the small lakeside town. Starting this evening, in Piazza Calderini at 9 p.m., a new event in the musical series “Torri Incontra?” features a performance by Tony Dallara and Gianpieretti. The unusual duo, truly legendary during the 1960s, will thematically continue the musical style of the so-called Italian “golden years,” exemplified just two weeks ago by the evening dedicated to Don Backy.
Musical highlights of the evening
Tony Dallara, born Antonio Lardera, brought a real revolution to the Italian pop music scene of the 1960s, which until then was dominated by melodic lines. Considered at the time the “king of screamers,” Dallara topped the sales charts in 1958 with his Ti Dirò, and for the next four years, he practically had no rivals in Italian music. His repertoire also includes songs such as Julia, Come Prima, Ghiaccio Bollente, and many more.
Concert dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi
Tomorrow evening at 9 p.m., again in the beautiful port square, the Coro dell’Arena di Verona will perform in an exclusive: a special concert in homage to Giuseppe Verdi.
Exhibition and cultural inauguration
Finally, on Sunday at 7 p.m., the second edition of the exhibition “Immagini Oltre il Reale” will be inaugurated. Curated and organized by the Albisano painter Oscar Pavoni in collaboration with the Biblioteca Comunale and the Centro Studi per il Territorio Benacense. The exhibition “openly explores contents and images beyond the dimension of the real, aiming to capture aspects of our existence that, while beyond rational and material boundaries, we nonetheless know to be present,” as Professor Giuliano Sala from the Centro Studi per il Territorio Benacense explained in the exhibition brochure.
“It is with great satisfaction that the Comune di Torri,” emphasized Culture Councilor Daniela Peroni, “reaffirms this event, which aims to valorize a particular artistic language against all conventions.” Works by Renato Corbellari, Osvaldo Crotti, Giovanni Piasenti, and Vinicius Pradella will be on display in the halls along Viale Fratelli Lavanda until August 12.
