Wild Rafting Cleanup Removes 500 kg of Waste in Borghetto d’Avio and Brentino Belluno

The first edition of Rafting Wild Cleanup, a river-cleanup initiative, was held along the stretch from Borghetto d’Avio to Brentino Belluno in the morning and afternoon amid intermittent rain, drawing 90 volunteers, including about 20 children and participants from Monaco, Berlin, Milan, Arco, Trento and Verona, who collected more than 500 kg of waste in a few hours.

Promoted by Specie Selvatica APS with Xadventure guides and the 360gardalife portal, and supported by the Canoa Club Trento to reach inaccessible bends with rafts, the effort recovered mainly plastic along with bulky items such as a shopping cart, skis, boots, a suitcase, tires, tubes, a computer keyboard, a car battery and a stroller. The Brentino Belluno municipality arranged the retrieval and disposal. A follow-up activity is planned for May 10: a planting on Monte Zugna in collaboration with MUSE – Museo delle Scienze di Trento.
