The construction of a new roundabout in the locality of Linfano, located in the municipality of Arco, has officially begun. This roundabout will be situated at the intersection of State Road 240 and Provincial Road 249. The project is expected to be completed by March 2025, with a total investment of approximately 1.7 million euros.

Project Details

The new roundabout will have a diameter of 44 meters, surpassing the 34 meters of the current structure. Its position will be slightly shifted to the northwest to facilitate the works related to the construction of the Garda Cycle Path. This intervention aims to enhance the safety of the existing intersection by reducing the speed of passing vehicles and ensuring easier maneuverability for heavy vehicles heading towards the surrounding industrial area.

Timing and Planned Interventions

The works, which will last approximately 180 days, will include various activities: from the construction of reinforced concrete walls and curbs to the installation of a new lighting system and stormwater drainage systems. Additionally, planting will take place in the central island and surrounding areas, as well as provisions for potential bike lanes leading to Arco.

Official Statements

The President of the Province, Maurizio Fugatti, emphasized the importance of the intervention: “A seemingly small project but extremely significant,” noting that the autumn-winter period was strategically chosen to minimize disruptions to tourist traffic. Fugatti added that this new infrastructure will not only improve traffic flow but also enhance the aesthetics of the area.

Further Investments in Road Safety

The provincial government has announced additional plans to improve road safety in the area. Among these is the intention to fund the enhancement of roadways along Via Sabbioni and Via Aldo Moro in Arco, with an estimated cost of 3 million euros, which will also include a new sidewalk. Furthermore, an investment of 700,000 euros is planned to create a bike lane along the left bank of the Sarca River.
