A march for peace will take place in Riva del Garda on Monday, October 13, coinciding with the traditional Perugia-Assisi event. Organized by the municipality and local high schools, the event titled “The Courage of Peace” will feature around 2,000 young activists marching through the city center. Participants are set to gather at 8:45 AM at the sports field of the oratory on Viale dei Tigli, with the march commencing around 9 AM. The procession will head towards Piazza della Costituzione, where a meeting is scheduled with Mayor Alessio Zanoni and activist John Mpaliza, known for his commitment to promoting peace. The march will involve students from various schools, including the Hospitality Institute, Floriani, and Maffei High School, who have prepared creative contributions on the theme of peace. During the event, flags representing peoples affected by conflicts around the world will be displayed, symbolizing solidarity and support. The mayor has encouraged the young participants to reflect on the meaning of living in a war-torn context and the importance of the courage needed to uphold peace, emphasizing that this event represents a significant step towards a culture of dialogue and mutual understanding.
