Zanetti-Cominelli Retirement Home Expansion and Staffing Updates
The process for the expansion of the Zanetti-Cominelli retirement home is now in its final stages. The geriatric facility decided several months ago to construct a new section adjacent to the current building to gain additional space. The contract, worth nearly 700 million euros, saw six companies participate in the bidding process, with the award going to a company based in San Giorgio. The construction company is expected to deliver the project imminently, and will have six months to complete the work from the start date.
Updates on Staff and Ongoing Works
Another development is the addition to the organizational chart with a new head nurse and a physiotherapist. “In recent days, there has been discussion about the difficulty of recruiting healthcare professionals,” explains President Luigi Bianchi. “Moreover, there is a trend of staff leaving assisted living facilities for hospitals. In our RSA (Residenza Sanitaria Assistenziale), however, the situation is better.” In fact, it could be argued that the opposite has occurred: the new head nurse joins from the emergency room at San Pellegrino. This is a role of responsibility that had been vacant for some time after the resignation of the religious staff member who managed the nursing and auxiliary staff.
Regarding the physiotherapy service, a competitive exam has been held, and soon a second rehabilitation operator will join the Zanetti-Cominelli team. “This role is extremely essential in a retirement home,” comments Bianchi. “And, among other things, it is difficult to find on the market, similar to professional nurses. The arrival of the head nurse will also help to further improve the internal organization of the facility, especially for the benefit of the residents.”
