Thanks to the thorough investigations conducted by the Carabinieri of Malcesine, a 30-year-old man responsible for a robbery committed in September 2023 in Brenzone sul Garda was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, April 3, after months on the run.
The criminal, who resides in Veneto, had attacked a jewelry representative near his home. After hitting him with several punches to the face, he had snatched the backpack he was carrying. The backpack contained diamonds worth a total of 200,000 euros.
After the theft, the robber had escaped with the help of an accomplice. However, the Carabinieri were able to track him down and arrest him. The man has been taken to the Padua prison.
The investigations will continue in order to identify the accomplice and recover the valuable stolen goods. This is an important step in the fight against crime in the Lake Garda area.
