On the afternoon of Sunday, June 22, 2025, a adrift vessel raised concerns in the waters of Brenzone, where its occupants, two foreign tourists including one minor, were unable to climb back on board after a swim. The situation was reported to the V.3003 naval unit of the Lake Garda Naval Operational Section of the Guardia di Finanza in Salò, which immediately initiated search operations. Upon arriving in Castelletto, the agents found the abandoned boat with only clothing and personal belongings on board.
Fortunately, the two tourists had already been rescued by another vessel passing by and were safely transferred to Gargnano (BS). The young man had jumped in for a swim and, finding himself in difficulty, had called for help from the other tourist who was following him; both had then struggled to return to the boat. The activities of the Guardia di Finanza continue to ensure the safety of swimmers and tourist rescue in the lakes and rivers of Lombardy.
