Montichiari: Car Fails to Stop at Checkpoint, 25-Year-Old Flees with Drugs in Backpack A routine checkpoint led to a chase on Monday afternoon in Montichiari when a high-powered vehicle ignored the local police’s stop signal and continued through the streets of the town. After being stopped, one of the passengers exited the vehicle in an attempt to escape on foot with a backpack, but was quickly apprehended and restrained by the officers. During the search, two kilograms of narcotics, including marijuana and hashish, were discovered inside the bag.
Subsequently, a search of the young man’s home resulted in the seizure of an additional 40 grams of hashish. The 25-year-old, already known to law enforcement for prior offenses, was arrested and taken to jail following the validation of his detention.
