The organizational machine for the 68th Regional Agricultural, Craft, and Commercial Fair in Lonato del Garda has officially started, marking one of the most anticipated events in the Lake Garda area. With the appointment of the Organizing Committee, once again chaired by Laura Giacomelli and with the return of Fiorenzo Bresciani as Director, preparations are underway for the edition that will take place from January 16 to 18, 2026. The event reaffirms its role as a crucial showcase for the territory, blending tradition and innovation in the local agricultural and production sectors. The Organizational Structure and Initial Appointments The first official meeting of the Fair Committee 2026 took place on the evening of Thursday, September 18, marking the formal establishment of its members. The event will be led by Fiorenzo Bresciani as Director, a role he previously held during the 64th edition. Alongside him, Laura Giacomelli has been confirmed as President for the fourth consecutive year. The organizing team will consist of eight members, a mix of familiar faces and newcomers: Marco Destefano, Mariarosa Sandonini, Nicola Ferrarini, Muriel Cassini, Morgana Tognato, Luigi Laquaniti, Emilia Cherubini, and Giovanna Lacalamita. An Event Rooted in the Community The fair, the first major event of the annual calendar, enjoys the patronage of significant institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests, the Lombardy Region, the Province of Brescia, the Brescia Chamber of Commerce, and the regional agency for agricultural and forestry services. The Mayor of Lonato del Garda, Roberto Tardani, emphasized that the event has been “for 68 years a symbol of our past, our traditions, and an extraordinary showcase of our territory and the productive ingenuity of our community.” The event aims to combine historical initiatives with innovations introduced through the committee’s contributions. Voices of the Key Figures President Laura Giacomelli expressed her “great pride” in being reconfirmed, calling it “a sign of great trust and recognition for the commitment and passion.” She also highlighted how the fair represents “one of the oldest and most cherished events in our territory: a moment of gathering, tradition, and economic development.” Director Fiorenzo Bresciani added that the organization is working to create an event that continues to be “a cornerstone for promoting the activities and typical products of the area,” offering a journey through the past and present with displays of vintage agricultural machinery alongside the latest innovations in the sector. The Agriculture Councillor, Massimo Castellini, also welcomed the appointments, describing the fair as “a strategic tool for economic and cultural promotion” in an increasingly complex agricultural context.
