Malcesine hosts the World Championship of inclusive sailing 2.4mR
Antonio Squizzato triumphed in Malcesine, winning the title of World Champion in inclusive sailing at the 2.4mR Inclusive World Championship, which took place from October 9 to 12. The Paralympic athlete from Canottieri Garda excelled in the NOD Para category, also ranking first in the NOD standings, surpassing prominent competitors such as Finnish sailors Marko and Otto Dahlberg. The event featured 56 sailors from 17 nations, all welcomed by Fraglia Vela Malcesine, in a competition marked by variable weather conditions and challenging races. Squizzato faced the challenges with determination, despite being affected by the flu during the early days of the competition. “Winning was incredible,” he stated after his success, expressing gratitude to the Italian Sailing Federation and his team for their support. The Overall title went to American Jeffrey Linton, followed by British sailor Megan Pascoe and Swiss competitor Urs Infanger.
