The Lombardy Region has allocated a sum of over 1.9 million euros for structural interventions against hydrogeological instability in various municipalities in the province of Brescia, including Moniga del Garda, a region of fundamental importance on the Lake Garda. These investments aim to enhance the safety of the territory, prevent instability phenomena, and protect both essential infrastructure and the safety of residents. The resolution was approved on the proposal of the Councillor for Green Systems, Gianluca Comazzi. Funding and Works for Territorial Protection The allocated resources are intended to finance long-awaited safety measures that are necessary to mitigate the risks of flooding and landslides. Moniga del Garda: A total of 250,000 euros has been allocated for the reopening of an underground section of the Rio Palude and the construction of a retention basin. These actions aim to address flooding issues affecting both public roads and local residences. Paisco Loveno: The municipality will receive 543,000 euros for slope stabilization operations, the implementation of deep drainage systems, and the regulation of surface water, with the specific goal of reducing hydrogeological vulnerability in the Paisco area. Ponte di Legno: For the hydraulic restoration of the Rovina stream, deemed crucial for the protection of areas located in the cone, 500,000 euros have been earmarked. Vezza d’Oglio: This municipality is allocated 650,000 euros for extraordinary maintenance and hydraulic restoration interventions along the Val Grande and Val Bighera areas. Commitment to Prevention and Safety These measures have been described as “very important for the prevention and protection of at-risk areas” by regional councillor Claudia Carzeri, highlighting their crucial role in the context of hydrogeological instability. “With this package of over 1.9 million euros,” commented Claudia Carzeri, “we are providing concrete support to four territories in our province, intervening where necessary to prevent landslides and flooding, and to protect homes, businesses, and infrastructure. These are important works that improve hydrogeological safety and the quality of life for citizens, resulting from a constant effort in planning and maintenance.” The councillor also expressed gratitude to Councillor Comazzi for the approved resolution.
