In line with initiatives aimed at strengthening security and legality in the area of the Lake Garda, the Municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere has recently received financial support from the Lombardy Region to combat crime. The centerpiece of this project is the staging of “Malabrenta,” a theatrical performance by Teatro Bresci, which will address the delicate balance between respect for the law and compromise, highlighting the crucial role of individual choices. The Story of the Banda del Brenta on Stage The work is inspired by true events and narrates the rise of one of the most powerful criminal organizations in Northern Italy active in the post-war period: the “Mala del Brenta.” Through the account of the protagonist, the performance traces the entire evolution of the group. The central characters are young individuals from humble backgrounds, raised in modest environments and escaping a predetermined fate of factory work. The narrator provides a first-person perspective on the events, recalling moments of escapism, shootouts, the handling of gold bars, and the drama of incarceration. Details on Performances and Access The event will feature a double performance at the Teatro Bresci. The first show is scheduled for Thursday, November 13 at 9:00 PM and is open to all citizens. The second performance, taking place on Friday, November 14, will be exclusively for students. Only students from the third, fourth, and fifth years of high school in Castiglione delle Stiviere will be admitted. Entry to both performances is free and no reservation is required.
