Sirmione Wraps Up Eighth Edition of Kids on the Road with Local Police

The municipality of Sirmione has concluded the eighth edition of the “Ragazzi on the Road” initiative, aimed at fostering dialogue between youth and institutions. On December 18, 2025, during a municipal council session, local officials highlighted the program that allows young citizens aged 16 to 20 to engage directly with local police officers, focusing on issues of legality and road safety.

Initiated in May 2025, participants Greta Baraldi and Niccolò Campagnola experienced various police operations, including patrols and emergency response training. Their commitment was recognized with certificates of merit, and the initiative has historically inspired participants to pursue careers in public safety. Mayor Luisa Lavelli and Youth Policy Assessor Elena Boschi emphasized the program’s importance for civic education and community engagement, underscoring the positive impact of youth involvement in promoting safety and legality. The next edition is scheduled for spring 2026.
