Portese Sailing Courses for Kids Launch with Circolo Nautico Activities

As with every start of the summer season, activities aimed at introducing young aspiring sailors to sailing begin at Portese, organized by the Circolo Nautico. Three courses are scheduled, reserved for the Optimist class, which will be offered in the coming weeks to give boys and girls, aged between 8 and 13, the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of sailing.

Details of the sailing courses

The first course, lasting 7 days from Monday to Saturday, will take place from June 28 to July 3; the second from July 5 to July 10; and the third and final session from July 26 to July 31. The task of instructing the new recruits has once again been entrusted this year to Andrea De Giuli.

The courses, which will take place in the waters in front of the Portese Club, will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. As is now customary, at the end of each course, there will be a demonstration regatta, almost a showcase, where the various skills learned will be demonstrated.

Objectives and requirements

This will be a special moment for each individual participant, as they will have to demonstrate not only to themselves or the instructor the level of learning achieved but also, more importantly, that they are capable, beyond managing their boat independently, of qualifying for subsequent more advanced courses.
