Malcesine Hotel Association Plans Infrastructure and Tourism Growth
The board of directors of the Associazione Albergatori di Malcesine has been renewed. The leadership positions for the A.M.A. board for the two-year period 2000-2001 have recently been assigned. There have been no major changes; President Ugo Treccani and Vice President Elvi Trimeloni, who held office in the previous biennium, have been re-elected.
During the meeting, several topics for future discussion were outlined. An important issue is the amendment to the master plan for accommodation facilities. Last October, A.M.A. presented the Comune di Malcesine with a document containing observations and suggestions from the hospitality sector.
Future Projects and Initiatives
“The amendment,” explains President Ugo Treccani, “aims to promote the development of Malcesine’s hotel infrastructure both physically, through expansion where possible and appropriate, and in terms of service quality — for hotels that, for example, cannot modify their structures but still need improvements.”
Also in the pipeline is the renovation of the office at the bus station to make it more modern, comfortable, and functional. Another project involves collaboration with the Istituzione “Malcesine Più,” which is implementing a series of initiatives to facilitate mountain-bike enthusiasts and activate tourism among young people.
Among various projects is the bike-hotels initiative, aimed at helping tourists better explore the local area.
