Garda Solidale Volunteers Prepare to Aid Belarus Children Amid Increased Logistics
For the third consecutive year, the volunteers of Garda Solidale will set off for Belarus. They are bringing aid to children affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
Unlike previous years, the collected materials – clothing, hygiene products, foodstuffs, educational materials, para pharmacies, sanitary supplies, etc. – will be shipped with a truck in the coming days, that is, one month before the volunteers depart, to allow for better organization later on in the distribution of aid.
Departure and destinations
On Friday, April 7, a convoy composed of 75 people traveling in campers will depart from Garda. The arrival in Gomel, after a 2,500-kilometer journey, is scheduled for Sunday, April 9.
Starting the next day, all volunteers will be engaged in delivering the materials. The recipients of the aid are a hospital, a school in Vetka, and in Gomel, the Patmos Christian Association.
