Rondinella d’Oro 2026: Lions in the spotlight at Brescia’s Sports Gala
The Premio Rondinella d’Oro 2026 was presented in Brescia on 30 June as part of the Galà dello Sport bresciano, promoted by Associazione Giorgio Zanolli Editore and, for the first time, shared with Lions Clubs International – District 108 Ib2. The press conference highlighted talent, commitment and human value, with sport framed as a space for responsibility, inclusion and community service.
Among the key updates, District 108 Ib2 underlined its focus on service and community-building, with Daniela Rossi, Governor of District 108 Ib2, attending the event. The 2026 award’s graphics were created by Anxhela Selamaj, a student at Scuola Bottega, coordinated by professor Marco Callioni, with the school led by Regional Equality Adviser Anna Maria Gandolfi. The Targa Leonessa d’Oro 2026 was awarded to Marco Bonometti, Cavaliere del Lavoro and long-time patron of AN Brescia with his brother Franco, for sustained support to Brescia water polo with attention to youth development and the local feeder system.
The Targa Leonessa d’Oro for sporting merit will go to Brescia clubs and teams that earned titles or promotions in the 2025/26 season, including Siderurgica Leonessa Iseo Volley (women), Banca Valsabbina Millenium Brescia (women’s volleyball), Pavonese Calcio, Desenzano Calcio, Brixia GYM, OltreMella Rugby, AN femminile Pallanuoto, Atletica Brescia 1950 and Brescia Footgolf, with volunteer associations involved in the delivery. As announced by the organisers, the Premio Rondinella d’Oro 2026 will not be assigned to preserve the award’s unifying role amid a period seen as divisive for the local sports scene; instead, the Rondinella d’Oro Woman was awarded to Isabel Cacciamali (Brescia femminile).
