German Guides Highlight Lake Garda’s Food Scene and Family Tourism
It is always a priority for Germans to visit the tourist destination of Lake Garda. And two new guides demonstrate this.
The German tourism publishing industry becomes more targeted with these two new publications, one aimed at families, the other at food enthusiasts.
“Ristoranti am Gardasee” Guide
“Ristoranti am Gardasee” is the title of the guide published by Steiger Verlag of Munich, curated by Ellen and Helmut Dumler.
A journey to discover the new gourmet scene of Lake Garda, where, through updated and well-documented profiles, restaurants, trattorias, and tavernas are highlighted, with the aim of suggesting the best that Garda has to offer in terms of dining.
It is an interesting indicator of the evolution of a taste that is becoming more refined and attentive, no longer satisfied with just a meal, however simple, but eager to explore the authenticity and quality of a culinary experience, increasingly centered around convivial pleasure.
Seventy venues are selected by the guide’s authors, proposed according to territorial areas that, starting from the north, define the perimeter of the lake, including the inland areas of Trentino, Brescia, Mantua, and Verona.
“Gardasee Familien-Reiseführer” Guide
“Gardasee Familien-Reiseführer” is instead the title taken by Companions Verlag of Hamburg for the holiday experience on Lake Garda for families and young couples.
The lake of Garda, for parents and children, is presented with careful attention by Gottfried Aigner, who highlights itineraries, beaches, playgrounds, attractions, restaurants offering kids’ menus, agritourisms, sports centers, museums, and many other pieces of information for those choosing a vacation with children.
An aspect of vacationing perhaps still too overlooked in the local tourist offerings, which have not yet built significant packages around it, but which is experiencing increasing demand, to which the German market appears to be particularly receptive.
