Nautica Casarola Achieves First ISO 9002 Certification in Lake Service Sector
The upcoming tourist season will bring millions of visitors to the lake, including those accustomed to frequenting Garda by pleasure boat. The first ISO 9002 certification has been awarded in this sector, confirming the quality of the “services” segment of a company.
The national leader in this achievement is Nautica Casarola, which has its administrative headquarters in the Arilicense district.
Origin and Value of the Certification
“The idea was born after receiving multiple requests from various technicians who, during site visits, almost encouraged us to undertake this venture,” says Casarola. “It took a year of work,” continues Cesare Casarola, “but it was worth it; the certification now represents a past that allows us to compete in the international market, and I am very proud, not only of being the first to obtain it but especially because the quality certification relates to our service sector.”
Franco Businero is one of the technicians who managed and followed the complex procedure. “The difficulty,” he explains, “was in preparing the crucial manual that details what is behind each service: repair, mooring, sales, and parking, as well as the sector closest to our hearts, the restoration of hulls, such as old wooden Riva boats, no longer produced for at least fifteen years and therefore considered vintage.”
Restoration and Passion for Vintage Boats
Even in these days, there are some examples of these motorboats within the workshop’s space. “And like the cherry on top,” Casarola recalls, “I have always had a genuine passion for these splendid boats, the same passion that supports my activity. Restoring these boats is extremely delicate work: materials and technology are no longer what they used to be, and the difficult part,” concludes the workshop owner, “is achieving an ‘era-accurate’ result with modern techniques.”
