SalòGolosa Event Highlights Salutes Lake Garda’s Culinary and Music Scenes

The delights of taste, it is known, are flavorful offspring of material culture and sound like music to the palates of gourmets.

But the Condotta del Garda of Arcigola Slow Food also wanted this year to explicitly emphasize the strong connection between the gastronomic experience and that of other senses, as well as the most sophisticated stimuli of the mind.

Thus, for one evening only, next Thursday, “Salògolosa” makes a comeback — a tour through the historic sites of the lake’s capital city. It is a particularly stimulating itinerary because it moves, with the contribution of quality notes, among typical dishes and products, accompanied by local wines.

Details of the event on May 25

On Thursday, May 25, from 7 p.m. to midnight, guests who have booked (by calling Mr. Gozza at 0365/296811 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays, or using the website Http://utenti.tripod.it/salogolosa/)

can wander through the alleys of the old town, stopping at restaurants and pastry shops, or on terraces of ancient private residences, open for the occasion.

Here will be a rare opportunity to listen to music and taste typical delicacies, sample wines and cheeses, and even try pairing different oils.

The offering is truly rich, with dishes and music ranging from appetizers, to first courses, second courses, and desserts — with curious pairings and authentic food rarities such as Nember’s Garda olive oil or the latest vintage wines now on sale.

Participation methods and performances

Upon registration, costing 70,000 lire, each participant will receive a booklet of “coupons” that entitle to participate in various tastings, as well as to enjoy exclusive privileged seating for the musical performances.

These performances are also of the highest order, featuring the cello of Frider Berthold, the guitars of Luca Lucini and Mauro Vanzani, as well as trios, quartets, quintets, and solo singers.

At 6 p.m. at the Comune, the “Gasparo da Salò” award will also be presented.
