Puegnago Approves Water Management Pact with Garda Uno Municipality

Even the municipality of Puegnago, after other municipalities in Valtenesi, has approved in the town council the agreement with the Azienda speciale Consorzio Garda Uno concerning the management of the integrated water service.

Decisions and objectives of the Municipality

A move that the other municipalities involved in Garda Uno are expected to follow in order to comply with the timelines set by recent ministerial regulations, dictated by the Galli law and the Merloni “third” law.

During the town council session, Mayor Gianfranco Comincioli recalled the obligation of the administration to entrust the company, to which Puegnago is also associated, with the service of complete water cycle management.

Motivations and management methods

The mayor emphasized that this management “is of economic and entrepreneurial importance, meaning that the management of the service itself should be contracted out to the best bidder.” He stated that the law’s spirit aims to uphold the principle that the costs arising from the management should be fully borne by those who benefit from the service.

Costs refer to expenses for personnel, maintenance, and new facilities.

Reflections and future decisions

For these reasons, we have unanimously approved the agreement with Garda Uno, reserving the right to withdraw from this commitment if the service is not provided as agreed, as well as to evaluate any new legislative provisions that are expected to be enacted in the near future.
