Polpenazze Attracts Tens of Thousands for Wine Fair and Night Football
There can be many historical and artistic reasons to visit Polpenazze. However, these are matters for a select few. More practically, the main reasons are definitely two, capable of attracting tens of thousands of people to the area.
The first is the classic Wine Fair; the second, imminent – as it begins tomorrow evening, Saturday, with the traditional fireworks – is the night tournament, now in its 22nd edition with a prize pool of 25 million.
This means seeing thousands of people again, while equally interested in soccer, will fill the two stands located along the sidelines for the classic polenta and spit-roast skewers. It has become fashionable, on what promise to be warm evenings, to seek some refreshment where nature is generous.
Scenic views and events
Moreover, since the eyes also want their share, before darkness takes over – only to be defeated by the spotlight – the gaze is lost to the horizon to admire Lake Garda’s blue and the mountains on the Veronese shore. Polpenazze, therefore, until July 29 (matches are played on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday), will be the capital of night football.
This year, it also presents another novelty. Not insignificant. Certainly, not everyone will be interested in the fact that an underground tunnel has been constructed to lead players directly onto the playing field.
What organizers particularly want to highlight is the new structure that will be inaugurated. Certainly appreciated by children, but equally by mothers who decide to accompany their husbands.
Family-friendly initiatives
Until last year, in fact, parents with young children had to sacrifice their babysitting, a problem no small issue, now solved by the creative minds of the Unione Sportiva Polpenazze organizers.
A dedicated space has been set up along the sidelines, furnished with various games, and staffed with supervising personnel.
