Castiglione Mayor Reviews Neighborhood Profile Amid Property Ownership Checks

“We are conducting a real inventory of the neighborhood’s situation before taking any hasty actions we might regret.” Mayor Arturo Sigurtà assures his citizens that he is not wasting time on the Cinque Continenti issue, nor is he prioritizing it among the top concerns of his administrative actions.

It is the mayor himself, along with the city council, through Erminia Biaggi, the social services assessor, who are conducting a series of checks aimed at creating an overall picture of the situation.

The actions of the administration and the challenges

Assuming that many of the measures prescribed in ordinances issued in previous years have not been implemented, the main challenge facing the municipal administration at this moment is identifying the names of all property owners in the neighborhood.

“We are making efforts, including public notices, but until we precisely understand the situation, we cannot take hasty positions. The Dover case this past week keeps us on alert: it is easy to call for drastic measures, but these people have dignity and cannot be thrown out onto the streets overnight,”

concluded the mayor, who reserved the right to communicate the administration’s decisions in the coming days.

Even Biaggi, the social services assessor, is very concerned and assures that she will meet with the mayor again today: “I will go to Sigurtà to tighten the grip around the owners, urging them to attend a meeting: they have responsibilities they must face. I see the situation every day, and it is certainly serious. We are trying to gather all the necessary data to start implementing a series of actions.”

Citizens’ concerns and future decisions

I am aware that many Castiglione residents complain, and I hope the mayor is willing to act with ordinances as well,”
