Consorzio Garda Uno Assembly Discusses Water Service & Future Growth
The General Assembly of the Consorzio Garda Uno Special Company has been convened by the President of the Assembly, Felice Anelli, for next Monday, July 3rd at 6:00 PM.
A fixed and mandatory appointment, the second of 2000, for the members of the Consorzio, which, as is known, includes all the municipalities on the Brescia side of Lake Garda (a total of 19) and the Province of Brescia itself.
Agenda items
Numerous and important topics are on the agenda, starting with the examination of the situation regarding the delegation, by the member municipalities to their company, of the Integrated Water Service.
Although some municipalities have yet to approve their participation, and are currently deliberating on this matter, many have already, through resolutions passed by their respective city councils, expressed their agreement with the service proposed by the Special Company.
The Assembly will then discuss the Financial Statement for 1999, followed by an analysis of the optimal management methods for the Peschiera del Garda treatment plant, which is co-owned with the Gardesana Servizi Company. The latter is responsible for collection on the Veronese side.
Final items and future memberships
Finally, of particular importance will be the last agenda item, after the replacement of a resigned councilor, which concerns the examination of the request for membership to the Company submitted by the municipality of Pozzolengo, which aims to increasingly integrate into this important entity.
With this new entry, the number of municipalities that have formed a consortium with Garda Uno since its founding will rise to 20, creating a Special Company that continues to expand across various sectors related to environmental protection and preservation, achieving notable successes.
For example, the free bathing access in all the beaches of Brescia’s Lake Garda, obtained for the first time last year, and the European Blue Flag 2000 recently awarded to the municipality of Sirmione.
In anticipation of this new addition, following last year’s inclusion of the municipality of Calvagese, tables regarding the new distribution of participation shares have been prepared and already delivered for a preliminary review to the 19 members.
