Castiglione’s Neighborhood Survey and Basement Sale Update
The municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere is completing a housing survey in the Five Continents neighborhood to gather the necessary information to plan urgent intervention measures.
The municipal technical office of Castiglione has charged one of its officials to initiate the creation of a detailed map of the properties, services, and premises within the neighborhood.
As a first step, the technical office distributed invitations to all residents of the neighborhood. Owners of apartments or basements are invited to provide their personal details and some information related to their property to the municipality.
Terms and situations of the survey
The deadline for submitting the requested information to the technical office was set for July 4th.
For areas where data has not been obtained, it is likely that the municipality will conduct on-site inspections.
The situation in the neighborhood remains quite concerning, especially with the summer season, which, due to the heat, is increasingly complicating living conditions, particularly for those residing in basements.
Some decisions are expected from the mayor in the coming days.
Sale of basements and issues
Meanwhile, another piece of news regarding this neighborhood is causing discussion.
It concerns the auction of about fifteen basements, located beneath apartments and which have obtained occupancy permits over the past years, due to the owner’s bankruptcy.
This situation will naturally lead to new ownership: there is even talk of some current owners reaching an agreement to try to acquire what is sold.
Their aim would be to repurpose these premises, which have long been overcrowded, for non-residential use.
