The community of San Felice is preparing for some very intense religious days, starting today at 8:30 PM, when many pilgrims from Valtenesi and numerous locations in the vicariates of central and lower Garda will converge.

Start of the Celebrations and Festivities

Festivities dedicated to Madonna of Mount Carmel will culminate on Sunday, July 23rd, with the conclusion of the celebrations and the possibility of receiving a plenary indulgence from noon on the 23rd through July 24th.

On Sunday at 11:00 AM, in the parish church, the Holy Mass will be presided over by the Bishop of Verona, Mons. Flavio Roberto Carraro.

At 9:00 PM, a solemn procession to the sanctuary will take place. Monday, July 24th, dedicated to thanksgiving, will feature a Mass celebrated by the provost of San Felice, Don Luciano.

Exhibition and Cultural Activities

Also noteworthy is the significant exhibition, open until July 23rd, titled «The Icon and the Dialogue between the East and the West of Christianity», held at the sanctuary itself.

Giovanni Mezzalira is the master who coordinates the meticulous work of a group of iconographers from the school of contemporary iconography at the Abbazia di Maguzzano.

Tradition and History of the Festivities

The official celebration of Madonna of Mount Carmel, also known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel, is officially held on July 16th in San Felice, although tradition states that the festivities occur on the fourth Sunday of the same month.

This convent is managed by the Carmelite friars, with an associated Center for Studies, renovated between 1970 and 1976.
