Verona Police Academy Graduates Sworn In During Ceremony
The Prefect and the Questore of Verona attended the “Solemn Oath” ceremony of the students from the 153rd course of the Police Academy, marking their full induction as police officers through the ceremony.
This day of great emotion was greeted by an extraordinary crowd of family members and friends who crowded, like never before, the bastions of the Venetian fortress, which typically hosts the spectacular concluding event of the courses.
After a greeting from Giuseppe Reccia, the school’s director, the students listened to the words of the message addressed to them by the Chief of Police, who reminded the new officers of the delicacy of the profession they are called to perform.
Message from the Chief of Police
“Your conduct,” De Gennaro wrote, must be based on the scrupulous respect of deontological standards and the highest ethical values, unconditional sense of duty, and maximum seriousness and composure, both in public and private life, as tangible signs of pride in being part of the Polizia di Stato and respect for citizens.”
The authorities present then assumed the task of awarding distinctions to Emilio Maina, Cristiana Rigotti, and Giovanni Macajone, who ranked first through third respectively in the course standings.
Award recognitions were also handed to students who excelled particularly in technical disciplines: Luigia Cavallaro, first in the service pistol shooting competition; Marco Sposito for operational techniques; and Lucia Di Lorenzo in self-defense techniques.
