Porto San Nicolò Rent Reduction Boosts Lake Garda Port Management

For the entire Porto San Nicolò complex, the province granted a substantial discount to the municipality, reducing the annual rent from 63 million to the current 144,000 lire.

This allows the municipality to allocate funds for service redevelopment: previously, the collected money was used solely to pay the rent.

Now Lido di Riva has taken over the port management from the municipality, with the task of, among other things, installing a gas station to fuel motorboats in compliance with the law.

Currently, the issues are numerous: the Carabinieri, with their motorboat, navigate as far as Bogliaco, the nearest fueling station.

For the two Speedy Gonzales of the Danti fleet, a fuel truck must drive close to the motorboat to pump fuel.

The owners of cabin cruisers that use auxiliary engines likely manage with a jerry can.

Refueling services and future interventions

The authorized fuel stations are all located in the lower Lake Garda area: Peschiera, Sirmione, Desenzano. After the closure of Agip in Piazza Catena, the Upper Garda remains without service.

In addition to refueling for engines, Lido di Riva will need to address, within the next 9 years, the replacement of the hauling slipway (€81 million), the installation of a new floating platform (€36 million), the refurbishment of the paving of the launching and storage area (€45 million), and the replacement of the door to the fort (€5.5 million).
