Brescia Launches Tourism Degree Program at Statale University
Tourism secures a place at the University of Brescia. The Province and the **Statale di Brescia** are developing a study program that will launch next year and will be dedicated to those who want to specialize in tourism, a sector of fundamental importance for the entire Brescia area.
Although still in development, the project could result in either a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree, thus post-graduate. In the first case, it would also be accessible to freshmen, while in the second scenario, it would be reserved only for students who have already completed their thesis.
The logistical venue that will host the classes has practically been determined: it will be the Castle of Desenzano.
Official Position and Future Prospects
The initiative is confirmed by the Vice President of the Province, **Stefano Saglia**: “The Palazzo Broletto Executive – explains Saglia – is promoting a series of activities, investing, in particular, in those related to the tourism sector.
We strongly believe in the collaboration between the territory and the university to offer students new and more effective tools to grow.”
For Saglia, the tourism project “should be supported by a management company” modeled after “**Università & Impresa**”, the agreement between academia and companies that for a week has been offering 33 young Brescians training courses to become managers of small and medium-sized enterprises.”
