European Commission Invests €3.88B in 14 Italian Regions for Job and Education Development
To support employment in central and northern Italy, the European Commission allocated 7,513 billion lire (€3.88 billion).
These funds are aimed at developing jobs across 14 Regions and Autonomous Provinces. The overall plan is called ‘Objective 3’ and is active for seven years, from 2000 to 2006.
It is planned that over a third of the resources will be allocated to active labor market policies, including projects for re-integrating unemployed individuals into the productive sectors of the economy.
Distribution of Resources
29% of the total amount is dedicated to the development of education, vocational training, and consultancy, while 10% of the funding is allocated to improving equal opportunities.
