Italy’s Tourism Promotions: Culturalalia, BTS, and International Fairs

As every autumn, this year too the 2000-2001 winter promotional campaign has begun. L’APT n. 12 participated, together with the APT di Verona, in CULTURALIA, a trade fair on the enhancement of cultural heritage and activities, held in Rome from September 28 to October 1, 2000.

Preparations are also underway for participation in the BTS, Borsa del Turismo Sportivo (Sports Tourism Exchange), which will take place in Montecatini Terme from October 13 to 14, 2000.

Unlike traditional tourism fairs, these events include, in addition to an exhibition area, a workshop section where Italian and foreign demand operators meet with Italian supply operators in that specific segment.

They thus represent an opportunity to enhance these important resources and opportunities that the territory offers by organizing information and tourism offers related to the specific theme, making them accessible even to market niches interested in highly specialized vacation proposals.

Promotional initiatives abroad

In addition to a broad calendar of fairs in Italy and abroad, promotional initiatives are planned at shopping centers in Germany, following a proven formula from previous years.

For autumn, three outings are scheduled, specifically to: Freiburg, Ingolstadt, and Darmstadt, starting as early as October 23.

These weeks provide opportunities for direct contact with potential tourists, who can gather information, collect various promotional materials, and sample typical products of our cuisine.

To attract more visitors to the stand and encourage the collection of contact details, a prize stay is drawn weekly, kindly provided by the Hotel Association.
