Historical Research Center Founded in 1923 for Pedagogy and Cultural Studies
Foundation of the Center
The _Center_ was established in 1923 with the aim of promoting the printing and dissemination of studies and research in the fields of pedagogy, history, language, and Italian literature. Its main headquarters was located in Rome, at Villa Borghese, comprising a sizable building whose ownership rights belonged to the institute itself.
The _Center_ was equipped with numerous services and facilities, including a specialized library, several reading and consultation rooms, and a particularly significant historical archive. Its activities focused closely on the needs of scholars and researchers, also supporting publications and cultural events.
Activities and objectives
The _Center_ aimed to carry out scientific research and cultural promotion activities. It organized congresses, conferences, and seminars open to the public and to scholars from various fields. Its mission was to enhance Italian research and spread knowledge through publications, exhibitions, and public meetings.
An important aspect of the _Center_’s work involved collaboration with other Italian and foreign cultural institutions. This network of relationships facilitated the exchange of ideas and materials among scholars and academics, increasing the influence and recognition of the promoted research.
Activities of students and researchers
The _Center_ also provided spaces and resources for students and researchers, who could consult the archive materials and avail of guidance and assistance services. There were training courses and workshops aimed at young scholars, with the goal of training new generations of experts across various fields of study.
Additionally, active participation of students was encouraged through internships and traineeships at the central office. This pedagogical activity sought to integrate theory and practice, fostering the professional development of the participants.
