Gianfranco Vissani to Lead National “Maître of the Year” Contest Final
It will be none other than Gianfranco Vissani, renowned chef for distinguished politicians and now a consultant for the programs Rai Uno, Unomattina, and Domenica In, who will preside over the jury that on Tuesday, in the dining halls of the Al Fiore restaurant, will select the “Maître of the Year”. Vissani eagerly and gladly accepted the invitation extended to him by the owner of the Arilicense establishment, Raffaello Speri; he will sit at the table with five other “masters of catering”, called upon to evaluate the delicacies prepared by the six finalists remaining in the competition after a challenging contest participated by about 150 maitre d’s.
Sonia Facca from Trieste, the only woman in the group, Mario Di Cristina from Palermo, Giuseppe Fraia from Naples, Giovannangelo Pappagallo from Bari, Paolo Gallo from Vieste, and Carlo Pazzaglia from Arezzo: these are the contenders for the national category title and “Fish and Shellfish”. This is the theme on which they will have to demonstrate their skills using the always captivating “lamp”. The lakeside town had already hosted the final stages of the event in the past two years, but it is undoubtedly this year’s edition that marks the definitive link between the two realities.
The Ceremony and the Theme of the Competition
The association “Ma ï tres Italiani Ristoranti e Alberghi”, organizer of the contest, has decided to dedicate the trophy to Maria Luisa Speri, wife of Raffaello, who passed away last April.
