Veronese Lake Garda Products Highlighted at Cibus Tour Trade Fair

Particularly crowded was the stand displaying typical products from the Veronese side of Lake Garda (and Monte Baldo), set up at Cibus Tour, the first trade fair dedicated to eno-gastronomic tourism, hosted by the Fiera di Parma.

The president of Apt del Garda, Enrico Merenda, held a press conference attended by numerous journalists from specialized magazines.

An opportunity to discuss wines, oils, fruits, vegetables, sweets, and traditional regional dishes.

The abundant promotional material was also present, providing all the necessary information about the artistic, cultural, and environmental heritage.

Tastings and Sector Value

A wide range of tastings included cheeses, cured meats, honey, red wines, white wines, and ‘chiaretti’ (local spirits).

To get a sense of the sector’s importance, it is estimated that typical products are valued at 14 trillion lire, with an export impact of 1.8 trillion lire.

The eco-tourism sector includes nine thousand agritourism companies, with a total capacity of one hundred thousand beds.

In 1999, there were a total of two million arrivals, 25% of which were from abroad, generating a turnover of over 900 billion lire.
