Trento Torch Procession and Nativity Scene Blessing Event

There will be the Archbishop of Trento, Monsignor Luigi Bressan, blessing the long procession of torches that from 6 pm this evening will walk through the streets of the city center after passing by the submerged Nativity scene in the Rocca canal.

Thousands of people from the entire District are expected for this eleventh edition of the event organized by the «Nativity Torch Procession Committee – Submerged Nativity Scene». The day’s program is quite full, with the nighttime parade being the highlight, but it already begins at 10 am with a performance by the Lizzana band.

Morning and Afternoon Activities

A performance by the band «Don G. Pederzini», which includes a parade through the historic center, will take place, repeating at 1:45 pm after the official opening and the inauguration of the «Heart Market».

At 2 pm, the 7th «Pedaling in anticipation of the Torch Procession» will depart from the Oratorio in Viale dei Tigli. Also at the same location, the «Solidarity Gimkana» will be held.

At 3 pm, children from the Rovereto Mini Choir will perform in the Oratorio theater. Just after, the Riva Firefighters will showcase their impressive maneuvers with demonstration skills.

Shows and Torch Procession Arrival

At 4:40 pm, the «Dro Drummers Group» will perform, awaiting the bishop, whose arrival is expected at 5:15 pm, greeted by the choir of the Dro Middle School and the Rovereto Mini Choir.

At 6 pm, as mentioned above, after the arrival of the members of the «Tennese Torch Procession» and the Varone Initiatives Group, the torch procession will move towards the center.

Arrival is scheduled for 7 pm, but the celebration will continue into the late hours.
