Unsafe Road Conditions on Sant’Andrea Street Raise Safety Concerns

“Who should I ask for damages? Who will compensate me for the fright I’ve suffered? Who do I have to curse so many times for the miserable state in which the road is kept?” The barrage of questions, or curses, comes from anyone among the hundreds or thousands who pass through Sant’Andrea Street using two wheels instead of a tank, which would be the only means capable of ensuring decent safety.

Road conditions and dangers

Luckily, our experience was fortunate. “One of the busiest roads in the Busa area, used since the ban on heading south, by hundreds and hundreds of trucks, vans, semi-trailers, articulated lorries, TIRs, cars of various sizes, and even some motorcycles.

For example, I am one of those motorcyclists who last night, around 6 p.m., narrowly avoided a tragic ending, because when two trucks met at an intersection, I had to swerve to the right and ended up with the front wheel in a water-filled pothole, crashing to the ground painfully.

Fortunately, despite the mishap, I fell onto gravel and grass. The motorcycle only suffered some scratches, but overall, it went well.

Had the imbalance pushed me towards the center of the road, I would now be keeping company with Father Heaven.

The fact is, that road is extremely deteriorated, full of potholes and depressions, with no horizontal signage, lacking barriers, nothing — there is nothing.

Poor motorcyclists, cyclists, regular drivers — forced to pray to heaven that everything will go well.
