Desenzano Hosts Third ‘Depends and Lake Garda’ Poetry Contest Winners
Third edition in Desenzano for the poetry contest «Depends and Lake Garda» promoted by the monthly magazine Dipende. And a third success for an initiative that this year received the patronage of Regione, Provincia, Comune, Navigarda, Comunità del Garda, and Fondazione Canossi.
On Saturday afternoon, in the presence of Desenzano’s Deputy Mayor Emanuele Giustacchini and the provincial councilor Mauro Parolini, the closing ceremony took place. Here is the list of the winners.
Prizes awarded to poets and winning poems
Italian haiku poetry (very short compositions): Pierluigi Scanzi from Lonato with «Il giunco si inchina» (The reed bows). Dialect haiku: Teresa Celeste from Brescia. Italian poetry: Clara Bombaci Vivaldi from Sirmione. Dialect poetry: Massimo Moretti from San Felice.
This edition saw the participation of 141 authors with 355 works, of which 288 written by adults and 67 by children.
«It was enjoyable to read in our dialect — commented architect Raffaella Visconti Curuz, president of the association — poems written by fifth-grade children».
Prize-giving to participating children
Five children were also awarded: Sara Pagiaro (Sirmione), Ilaria Rossi (Rudiano), Massimiliano Floriani (Bolognano), Raffaella Di Scala, and Moira Venturelli from Desenzano.
