Veneto Region Allocates €23M for Peschiera Bypass Extension on Highway 11
The unified conference responsible for approving the three-year intervention plan Anas, attended by the Vice President of the Veneto Regional Council Fabio Gava, allocated 23 billion and 300 million lire for the completion of the Peschiera bypass on the state 11 highway.
This funding is part of the 2000 emergency program and covers 65 percent of the project costs. The remaining 35 percent, amounting to another 12 billion and 530 million lire, is already available and has been set aside by the Region for some time. The 35 billion and 800 million lire allocated will thus enable the execution of the variant that involves the municipalities of Peschiera and Castelnuovo.
Details of the Intervention
The intervention consists of extending the existing Peschiera bypass eastward, specifically allowing the elimination of the crossing through the town center of Cavalcaselle, within the territory of Castelnuovo del Garda. At its eastern terminus, the variant connects to the roundabout interchange with the state 450 towards Affi, thereby improving connectivity in the Lower Garda area and near Gardaland.
The project is compatible with the planned relocation of the Peschiera motorway toll booth. For the Veneto Region, this is a victory: “The overall financing plan for Veneto,” declared the regional transportation assessor Renato Chisso, “rewards our planning capacity and the decision to challenge the ministry to negotiate real and essential improvements.”
