Padenghe Moves Forward with New Kindergarten Project After Long Delay
The longstanding issue of the Padenghe nursery seems to be heading toward a positive solution: recently, during a city council meeting, the project for the highly anticipated new kindergarten was presented to both the councillors and the residents.
Mayor Giancarlo Allegri, with the aim of streamlining the bureaucratic process related to this matter, has tasked the designers with presenting both the councillors and the large audience present with the key aspects of the building plan.
Current Issues and Community Decisions
In Padenghe, it should be remembered, the issue of the nursery has long been on the agenda as one of the most urgent problems to solve: as many residents know, the old location of the kindergarten, operated by the moral entity Zinelli, is now abandoned, and children enrolled in the nursery are forced to use some classrooms provided by the elementary school.
This solution takes up valuable space dedicated to teaching activities and the development the school has experienced in recent years. Ultimately, after a long period of discussions and consultations, the Padenghe administration’s prevailing decision was to build a new building for this essential service: an investment that will cost the community of the small Valtenese town about 3 billion lire.
The Projects and Alternatives
The operation is substantial, but the construction of the facility was among the top priorities in Mayor Allegri’s agenda. With the definitive failure of the agreement that would have allowed the moral entity Zinelli to build the structure, the municipal administration decided to act independently, aiming to finally provide certainty for residents, especially the youngest ones.
The new kindergarten will be built on a piece of municipal land near the current school complex, which also includes the elementary school: the project foresees, besides the six classrooms, basement rooms, covered areas for parking, loading and unloading zones for children coming from cars and school buses, playrooms, and a dining hall.
The management structure and responsibilities are still to be decided: these issues will be addressed by the Town Council of Padenghe at a later stage.
