Giuseppe Mongiello Forms New Garda Community Board to Boost Regional Promotion

The newly elected president of the Comunità del Garda, Giuseppe Mongiello, has wasted no time in forming his management board.

During the meeting on January 5th, in fact, the necessary appointments were made to kick off this community’s new direction, which has long needed interventions aimed at a significant presence not only in promoting the unified image of Lake Garda but also in launching a sort of entrepreneurial enterprise.

In the distribution of delegations, some previous positions have been confirmed, especially regarding the Veronese district, which emerged weakened from the elections for the renewal of the management board.

Delegations and specific assignments

For the Veronese area, Mongiello assigned the vice presidency to Giovanni Zappalà, mayor of Brenzone, and reappointed Antonio Pasotti of Bardolino to tourism, although there remains a possibility that some tourism issues might in the future be managed jointly with the inclusion of a second delegated person.

Mongiello also wanted close collaboration with Vincenzo Ceschini from Trentino, for the environment sector, and with Marcello Cobelli from Brescia for Internet matters.

The other Veronese members of the CDA include provincial tourism councilor Davide Bendinelli and Cipriano Castellani, mayor of Caprino.

Among the Brescians, the council seat was assigned to Marcello Beschi from Maderno, Clara Merici from Manerba, and Adelio Zanelli, former president of the same Comunità del Garda, from Puegnago.

Positions were also allocated to Mantovans: Bruno Righetti from Cavriana and Virginio Annoni from Volta Mantovana.

Objectives and future prospects

The allocation of delegations, which is not yet fully completed, also represents a clear signal to those municipalities that recently left the community, for various reasons. Reconciliation of this rift is one of the issues Mongiello aims to tackle as soon as possible.

An additional novelty in the new management approach may be the choice of a new headquarters, possibly in Sirmione.
