Exhibition on Conservation Restoration Opens at Palazzo Todeschini
Today at 5 PM, the Palazzo Todeschini Gallery in Desenzano will host the opening of the exhibition “The Paths of Restoration”, a showcase that, through art in its various forms, explores the challenging field of conservation restoration.
The inauguration will be preceded by an opening conference attended by Mayor Cino Anelli and Culture Councillor and Deputy Mayor Emanuele Giustacchini. Organized by the Department of Culture, the exhibition will be open until February 11 (hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 7 PM).
Exhibited contents and techniques
As Giustacchini explains, the “Paths of Restoration” offer a panorama ranging from investigations and surveys to the use of computers and the numerous steps involved in actual restoration. “You will see a monitoring station in action, with laser usage,” continues the councillor, “and you will observe how interventions are carried out on a mural painting, a canvas, archaeological movable finds, and marble artifacts.”
The local schools have already been informed about the event and invited to organize guided visits for their students. Additionally, the exhibition features a series of insightful conferences to be held in the Peler Hall of Palazzo Todeschini (opposite the Old Port) on Saturday, January 27; Saturday, February 3; and Saturday, February 10, all starting at 9:30 AM.
Series of conferences and speakers
The first event will focus on Lombard religious architecture. It will be chaired by Architect Cristina Bottoli, with speakers including Paolo Ventura (President of Brescia Architects Association), Alessandro Bazzoffia, and Lugnani.
On February 3, the next session will feature Roberta Pizzicara, Sandro Baroni, Roberto Fadenti, and Professor Gian Carlo Quaglia, who will focus on the artistic testimonies around Garda Lake. The final event on February 10 will feature Roberto Fadenti as the main speaker on the quest for origins, followed by presentations by Maselli, Pecorelli, and Bazzoffia.
Admission to the Galleria Civica exhibition and conference events is free.
