Desenzano Hospital Outperforms Region in Outpatient Waiting Times
The Desenzano Hospital Company outperforms the Region in outpatient waiting times. This is the surprising result from an investigation conducted by «Sole 24 Ore» on nearly one hundred hospital facilities.
Results and Regional Comparison
Indeed, Desenzano ranks third in our region and among the top ten overall in Italy for the promptness in waiting lists for some highly requested diagnostic services by patients. While the average wait time across the 26 hospital companies in Lombardy examined was 31.4 days, with peaks reaching up to 63 days, those at Desenzano are only 11.2 days.
Investigation Methodology
The economic newspaper sent a team of journalists who, posing as private citizens, made appointments for five diagnostic procedures: gynecological visit, cardiological visit, urological visit, abdominal ultrasound, and CT scan.
Involved Facilities and Comments
Among the best, of course, is the Desenzano company, which also includes five other hospitals: Lonato, Leno, Manerbio, Gavardo, and Salò. “We acknowledge with satisfaction these excellent results, which confirm our efforts, and we thank,” says the general director Angelo Foschini.
Similarly, the medical director Alfono Castellani expresses satisfaction: “Reducing waiting times has been one of our primary goals. Now, our commitment is to continue along this path to ensure the best service for citizens.”
