Brescia Opens Informagiovani Office to Improve Youth Services
The administration is moving rapidly towards the opening of the Informagiovani office, which will be located on the ground floor of the municipality. By the end of February, the training course for the two operators responsible for the service at Palazzo Gonzaga will conclude, and then the city council, based on a proposal from the delegated assessor Tagliani, will commission the cooperative Tempo Libero of Brescia.
Management and activities of the office
This cooperative manages similar service counters in the neighboring province and has substantial experience in the sector. Experts will assist municipal employees for the first six months of the year in establishing Informagiovani and initiating its activities, ahead of the official public opening scheduled for autumn of this year.
The office will mainly provide information on work, education, and competitions, and starting in spring, the regional bulletins of Veneto and Emilia Romagna will be available at the URP. These, together with those from Lombardy and the series of tenders and exams from the Gazzetta Ufficiale, will complete the informational panorama.
Materials and collaborations
An annual subscription has also been arranged with the social cooperative Eurocultura, from which brochures on various professions have been purchased, along with a series of tourist guides available to the public.
There will be a list of all courses offered by the two vocational institutes in Castiglione delle Stiviere and collaborations with local temporary employment agencies, which provide the municipality with their job requests, although without directly mediating the demand-supply match.
Development of the Public Relations Office
Alongside this project, the Public Relations Office continues to grow. This is evidenced by data released by the office itself and by the assessor Angelo Tagliani.
There were 356 access requests (compared to 237 in 1999), 12 from municipal councilors, 20 permits issued for driveway crossings, 173 requests for the use of the civic hall, 120 copies of laws handed out to private individuals (110 in 1999), and 170 notices of tenders issued (last year 150).
Overall, the office recorded 1,800 contacts in 2000, demonstrating the importance of the URP for communication between public administration and citizens.
