Arilica’s Future Focus: Heritage Preservation and Port Development
Less than a few months before the end of his second term, the mayor Umberto Chincarini identifies the development of port-related activities and the destination and utilization of the historical and architectural heritage as the two major “bets” on which the future of the town of Arilica will hinge.
“On the other hand, this is the extraordinary potential of the town: its architectural heritage and being situated on the shores of Italy’s largest lake. After dedicating much of these years of administration to recovering these assets as much as possible, it now becomes critically important to determine their future purpose.”
Destination of the historical heritage
“This,” adds the mayor, “applies to the Cacciatori Barracks, restored thanks to the only European Konver grant awarded in Veneto, but also, for example, to the former military prison and, still in the city center, to the Pavilion overlooking the Canal of Mezzo.”
