Lugana DOC Promoted at Milan Tourism Fair, Highlighting Wine Routes
The Consorzio Tutela Lugana DOC will also be fully present at the upcoming edition of BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo), scheduled from February 14 to 18 in Milan.
This presence is particularly significant because they will be guests at the stand set up by the Camera di Commercio di Verona, where all the Veronese Consortia will be present.
Interregional Significance of Lugana
The Lugana has perhaps the only interregional significance among the consortia, spanning Lombardy and Veneto, and can therefore be promoted in both regional areas, unified by a single, unmistakable product: Lugana DOC, which knows no territorial boundaries.
At the Veronese Chamber of Commerce spaces, the discussion will not only focus on wine production but, especially in this case, on the wine routes that have recently gained great momentum.
Presentation of the Wine Routes
On Thursday, the 15th, at 12:00 PM, the “I sapori di Verona” stand will host a presentation, including tastings, of the tasting routes in Veronese territory, including part of the Lugana zone.
This event has been organized in collaboration with all the Veronese Wine Certification Consortia, including that of Lugana DOC, as well as with the Monteveronese cheese producers, Garda and Garda DOP extra virgin olive oils, and Veneto-Valpolicella DOP, along with APT Riviera degli Olivi and APT di Verona.
Wine Regions and Trails
There are four wine trails in Veronese land linked to the shores of Lake Garda that reach into the Lugana DOC production area.
In this area, the brand new Vini Bresciani del Garda route concludes, connecting Gardone Riviera to Sirmione. This could serve as a natural continuation or expansion, uniting the Verona and Brescia routes.
This route also connects three production zones within, and therefore three DOC Consortia: Garda Classico, San Martino della Battaglia, and Lugana.
Presence in the Milan Pavilion
In Milan, the newly established Garda Bresciano will also have an official presence in Pavilion 10, dedicated to enogastronomic tourism, reserved for wine and food tourism, and the National Association of Città del Vino, which includes over 400 members across Italy.
