Garda Taste Routes Promote Local Food and Tourism Growth

The agri-food productions of the Benaco basin represent an undeniable attraction for tourism, which is increasingly attentive and interested in the gastronomic offer of a tourist area.

“Itinerari del Gusto” Project

Garda Pocket, the “Itinerari del Gusto” (Tastes Routes), is a project that showcases the beauties of Garda through wonderful foods such as oil, wine, fish, honey, truffles, asparagus, and vegetables, along with other small niche productions. These products themselves need to become a reason and pretext for tourism promotion.

The small volume was initiated by the Comunità del Garda (Garda Community) to strengthen an incentivizing action that would allow Lake Garda to position itself on international tourist markets as a place of “total quality”.

This publishing initiative also made it possible to connect the lake tourist product to the surrounding inland territory and to achieve the goal of encouraging tourists to discover the Garda environment in its complexity.

Online dissemination and future goals

Now, the four-language production, created in 50,000 copies, already a handy and easily accessible tool, has been fully uploaded online and is available on the website www.lagodigarda.it, in the “enogastronomia” (food and wine) section.

It will therefore be even easier to offer guests the opportunity to better enjoy a Garda vacation and to indulge in innovative and stimulating proposals.
