Lombardy Invests Over €6B in Lake Ports Development and Maintenance
Funding from Regione Lombardia pours into lake port works: more than six billion euros allocated for extraordinary maintenance and the enhancement of 19 lake ports, totaling 45 interventions. It should be noted that 5.8 billion euros come from the regional budget; the remaining 13 percent from the municipalities. On Lake Garda, the most significant allocation, nearly half a billion euros, is designated for the port of Moniga. Following are Limone (333 million), Manerba (290 million), Gardone (280 million), Sirmione (230 million), Desenzano (201 million). On Lake Iseo, allocations were granted for projects in Montisola (183 million), Sarnico (520 million), Predore (500 million).
Comment from the assessor Corsaro
“For the first time,” comments Massimo Corsaro, the infrastructure and mobility assessor, “municipalities, in addition to participating in the planning and financing of the projects, will directly carry out the interventions. With this new procedure, we will significantly improve the use of regional funds and drastically reduce execution times and financial residues.”
