Riva Approves 2001-2003 Public Works Plan with 56 Projects
After two evenings of fairly tiring debate, the general plan for public works in the municipality of Riva for the years 2001-2003 was approved with 21 votes from the majority, present in full and united behind the proposal of Deputy Mayor Matteotti.
Results and contents of the plan
There were five votes against and two abstentions, by Zambotti and Peroni. The plan lists 56 public works projects totaling around thirty billion lire.
Thirty interventions, worth a total of 21 billion lire, are classified as priorities and scheduled for completion within this year. The top priority involves spending 200 million lire to make Torre Apponale accessible and to illuminate the city gates.
Priority interventions and other works
The Comai bis project ranks third, followed by the lighting of Piazza Tre Novembre, Lungolago Marinai d’Italia, Piazza Catena, and Piazza San Rocco. The Campi variant reappears, with a budget of 2 billion lire; the sidewalk from the Degasperi district to San Tommaso, along with a concurrent bike lane, as well as the sidewalk from Via Venezia to the former Pederzolli mill on the Pasina provincial road (the first lot), each with a cost of 1 billion lire, along with the restructuring of the Pernici elementary school, which after more than thirty years of diligent service now requires modernization.
