Rocca di Manerba Ecological Reserve Promotes Educational Archaeology

The Rocca di Manerba peninsula is an ecological paradise to be enjoyed. It extends into Lake Garda’s waters, «drawing Dante’s profile», as Gabriele D’Annunzio once proclaimed.

A natural Eden for botanical rarities, home to two unique orchid species, and also an archaeological mine uncovered through excavations by Professor Bartfield, which revived millennia-old remnants of ancestors and the exciting saga of Garda’s historical eras.

Educational and Museum Activities

The «Centro Naturalistico La Rocca» has initiated a series of guided tours for schools and visitors, positioned as an oasis of attraction, scientific investigation, environmental awareness, and tourism.

The aim is to present the magnificent Rocca as a complex open-air museum, where artifacts excavated by the British archaeologist are displayed, with the prehistoric museum layout under his direction, while the medieval section is curated by Professor Brogiolo from the University of Padua.
