Bronze Age Pile Dwellings Exhibit at Sirmione Through October

The exhibition «Pile Dwellings of the Bronze Age in Sirmione» will remain open until October 14 at the Archaeological Museum of the Grotte di Catullo (Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM). Over 2,000 artifacts are on display, dating from the 17th century BC (Ancient Bronze Age) to the 13th century (Recent Bronze Age), when the abandonment of the pile dwellings occurred in favor of land-based settlements.

Collection and Exhibited Artifacts

The collection includes a rich array of bronze objects (axes, daggers, brooches, sickles, jewelry) from ancient to recent periods, along with ceramics and polished stone artifacts (Ancient and Middle Bronze Age). Most of these artifacts will be permanently exhibited at the same museum.
